Milti-Strand

HOW TO USE BEAD TIPS ON A MULTI-STAND PIECE
(1)

Design piece. A clamshell bead tip can hold 6 strands on Nymo B thread. Larger thread will accomadeate less strands.

Measure and cut thread for each strand (Length X 2 +12"). Stretch thread.

Thread needles. (1) Taking all of the ends together tie a knot near the ends of threads. Trim the end to about 1/8". Burn the end of the threads, being careful not to burn the knot. (Try to keep threads from tangeling, tape them down while you work if necessary.)

(1) Thread on a clamshell bead tip, hook pointing out, away from beads, one needle at a time.

(2) String all beads to complete your design.

(2) Thread final bead tip, one needle at a time, hook pointing out from beads.

Use a needle to guide a knot snug against the bead tip. Tighten it up by pulling the threads apart leaving no slack between beads. Check the knot making sure it is large enough not to pass through the bead tip by pulling on the bead tip.

Trim and burn, as above. Close bead tip to hide knot.

(3) We used a large thread for our images to make it easier to see. Thus our bead tips do not fully close over the knots.
